Default Lancashire may day bank holiday weekend steam event

Since the loss of Urmston there has been no Steam in Lancashire over the May Day weekend, so why not join us just off Junction 31, one day or the whole Bank Holiday weekend!

WEEKEND TIMETABLE

Saturday 30th April 2016

Arrival of engines during the day to venue at Huntleys Farm Shop

7pm - Engineman's Dinner at Huntleys Restaurant

Lancashire Hotpot Supper/ Band/ Disco until midnight
£5.00 per ticket

Sunday 1st May 2016

Morning - Get engines ready for afternoon road run

NOON - MELLOR ROAD RUN Begins

Pleasant run of approx. 5 miles visiting 4 pubs on route and tackling Mellor's famous Abbotts Brow steep 3/4 mile climb!
Food, Drink & Water available at each pub

Approx 50 passenger spaces on several trailers too! Booking in advance advisable!

Approx. 6pm - BACK to Huntleys for sheeting up and BBQ until late evening


Monday 2nd May 2016
HUNTLEYS COUNTRY FAIR, DOG SHOW & CRAFT FAIR

11am to 4pm

Britain's strongest man '.the Mighty Smith', Thwaites Shire Horses, Protection Dog Demonstration, Craft Fair, Taylor's Fairground, Dog Show, Food stalls & Ice cream ......

All engines invited to be part of a Static exhibition of all visiting Steam Traction Engines, Fairground Organs and Living Vans.

3.30pm - exit of all working roading steam traction engines

4.30pm - exit of steam engines on load loaders

sounds like a great event, to far away from me but the idea to stagger to leaving times of engines is a very sensible one and makes a lot of sense. good luck with the event.
