Has anyone seen the field at Ackworth ( 17th/18th ) yet?..Is it dry, or really wet?.. I have only been when muddy!!

I would think it's dry. Although there's been a few heavy showers this week, the ground will still be like concrete from lack of rain in recent months - unlike recent years - it'll take some saturating!

Default Ackworth steam

Hi My husband and I are the stewards for miniature steam at Ackworth. We look after the section completely from sending the entry forms and later on the passes to siting the exhibitors when they arrive on site. Everybody who came had a fantastic time. Even the weather was kinder to us than in previous years. We had a good turn out of miniatures. About half a dozen didn't show but most had the decency to ring me and let me know why they they couldn't come. The ones that couldn't be bothered to ring will be taken off the mailing list. I want to thank the organiser John Brook for entrusting us to look after this section. He is happy. We are happy. The miniature engine exhibitors are happy. If you've not been before please add us to your diary next year and support John and his rally. . It was a brilliant rally this year plenty to see. A good time was had by all I'm sure.
