That's a shame because I have been to several shows and enjoyed them.

I wonder if they’ll reconsider after todays announcement that theatres etc will soon be allowed to reopen?

I think the cast who put on the show will have had to start the dance routines by now.

Mark.

Social distancing in a theatre will reduce capacity significantly. Based on 2m distancing, a 300 seat theatre I've worked with calculated that their capacity would reduce to 28. I suspect that applying 1m+ would still make most large shows unviable.

In addition, many audience members will be unwilling to accept what they perceive to be a high risk in attending a theatre. The audience demographic for many live shows tends to be skewed towards high risk groups, and I'm sure this applies to Thursford. Theatre productions are high risk at the best of times, and throwing in this additional undertainty will not help.

Then .... add in the potential for local lockdowns. A national tour based on drive in, outdoor shows has been cancelled for this very reason.
