Hot Sunday
My first time at Hollowell and I though it was a brilliant rally. Just the right size - plenty of engines, but not so many that I couldn't appreciate them all. Not too heavy on the market stands either.
I went for the engines but enjoyed the other things I saw too, in passing - a marching (well, wandering) band, a dancing robot, big dogs and a lunatic on the top of a 200 foot mast, amongst other things. Some photos... |

Last year Holowell was one of the few events to run at all. I remember Alan Eaton saying, on the Saturday night , that they'd taken enough on the gate to guarantee the next years event.
Well it certainly happened in style, dry and and sunny but without the dust - just right. Lots to see and do, and excellent commentary in the show ring. The horses, which such a strong element of this show, were wonderfully described by Mike Grayson and Peter Vale. I shot videos of the road run on Avis = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhVD2rXvnf4 ( courtesy of the Holt family who have OK'd it ). and the stationary engines = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvRlVIbLU6w More (horses & tractors) should be ready in a day or so.
