Default 2015 Goldsmith Spring Rally

This time I have decided to concentrate on steam trucks since there was a bit of a theme in that direction this time around.

The Friday road run went ahead but did not go fully to plan.
The weather gods were not kind and part way through some official called time, everyone out of the pool.
Was a pity it could not go fully to plan but tis better to play safe and keep everyone on side.

I was not on the actual run but did get to see the convoy pull into Beaufort.
A grand sight indeed and the enthusiasm of all involved was very easy to see.
A credit to those who arranged all this and I hope we get to have another go at it.

Perhaps someone closer to the event would like to report more fully on it.
Be nice to hear some of the foot plate adventures.

I have taken a picture of all the steam trucks that were at the rally but not all made the run.
I believe there was one that had a problem and didn't make the rally so I don't have a picture of that one.

Here are the pictures.
I am not a reporter so don't ask me detailed questions about owners or serial numbers.
If someone knows and wants to add more info about these feel free.

I also have a few detailed shots of each as well so if there is something you would like to see ask.
I might have it.

Enjoy -

Here is another truck that I liked a lot. Didn't get to see it running.

Must not forget the model side of things. This was a very nice bit of work.

Hello, what is the idea of the extention of the cab on the brown sentinel in the first photo? I can see the side toolbox on the bottom but just interested to know what was above or was it a working day alteration or later. Great photos never realise how many waggons were in Australia.

My understanding is that the extended cab was a later addition done during restoration.
It was mainly to provide for additional coal storage.

That Clayton wagon looks absolutely superb, something about the early wagons on straked wheels
