Default Barleylands 2012

Here is something different I found, a miniature ploughing engine.

According to an information board it is 6 inch to 1 foot replica of an 1862 Kitson & Hewitson twin cylinder.

The full size engine was made in Leeds and was rated at 10nhp

Enjoy

Arthur

If I can add a few more photos onto this thread, for me the two miniature ploughing engines working in amongst the full size engines were one of the absolute highlights of this excellent show. They looked and sounded superb, and I think drew a lot of interest from the public. Barleylands was excellent as usual, although engine numbers were slightly down I understand, but with really good working areas. Really good to meet you Arthur, also Mark and Ruth Vine again (many thanks for the tea and cake and the trundle round on the roller!), and an extra thanks to Jim Stanley for taking me over to his shed especially after the rally to see the excellent progress being made on "Shamrock".

I could not miss this photo, seen at the same rally, but unaware of the conection, until I looked through the program, Both engines worked for Bomford and Evershed.
Who would have guessed that two engines from the Worcestershire area would be in the Essex, Norfolk area in there time of preservation.

Does any-one have a picture of Burrell 2473 'Black Bess' working the reciprocating sawbench that they could post please? This was the first time that this engine has been oin the belt in about 60 years, and also the first time that I have set to the belt, I actually made a better job of it on Saturday than I did Sunday
