Default Pickering Steam Rally

Last time I visited this event was in '04 and couldn't believe how much the site has changed since then. All for the better in my opinion, we had a fantastic day on Saturday. The sun shone, ground was very wet and muddy in a few places, but the hard roads made engine movement and us walking around possible with ease. Organs were spread around the site enough to not cause a racket. Good to see some 'more travelled' engines than I have been used to at the recent smaller local rallies.

I will try to post some pics tonight.

It was also nice to meet Sheila Dibnah - what a lovely, down to earth lady she is.

Paul

Great rally so lets have some pictures!

Lets start with Pete (Stiefbear) - i think thats right. He can't be doing polishing - he must have tripped over next to the tin and just be getting back up again!

And me with Phil and Giles Moston about to go on the road run on Foster TE 'Winnie'

'Carry On' - one of my favourite engines

Foden 'Prospector'

Burrell 'Excelsior' - formerly known as 'Island Chief'

General Cough

'Earl Kitchener'

By Mr Atkinson's stage

'Nero' - an engine which I have not seen before

Fowler 'Evening Star'

An immaculate Fowler BB ploughing engine

Fowler road locomotive 'Providence' - a super engine

In the town on Saturday night

and last but not least, and by special request...

Sam.
