Default Klondyke 2012 Saturday

We went early this morning and stayed until early afternoon. The weather was kind after the fog cleared. I don't think there was as many engines as last year and overall it seemed a little subdued, not sure why but we felt that last year had more 'buzz'. Maybe the afternoon or Sunday picked up. Even so it was a good day out although we didn't know anyone in that part of the deep south, apart from meeting our good friends Tez and Barry Job.

Saturday, has always been the quieter day at most events, even in the later years with shops now open both Saturday and Sunday, However it is nice to see this almost out of sight treasure. I remember one Easter staying in our caravan, we went for a drive and I saw the entrance from the road and could not believe my eyes at the sight that I had seen, so much so, that I nearly went off the road. We turned round and went into the entrance and spoke to several members and asked if we could look round, stating our intrest, they said yes and we had a good chat with the odd few that were working on their "toy's"
It is a very nice layout that the members have, I believe that someone may have left the site to the members to store their vehicles on, maybe someone can put me right on this. I think that one of the Taylor brothers left their yard for the use by engine owners to store their engines in. Nice pictures.

Mark.

Does any know who the chap is oiling up the Lister? He didn't know I was taking the photo but I thought he might like a copy.
