Default Fowler Water Gauge Cocks/Gauge frame

Following the successful hunt for a pressure gauge, I’m wondering if anyone has a Fowler gauge frame/cocks ? Again for a 7HP R Class or similar

Remember that on a Fowler you are lucky if you can see the gauge anyhow , and an ' original ' Fowler gauge would be brittle or shagged out by now .

Fair point Bob - perhaps I should have said Fowler style! I’m looking at new too but always worth asking in case someone has had some made or there’s new old stock (lol) sitting on a shelf!

My original fowler gauges are fine and easy to see. Only mod I've done is fit a Klinger glass, but only because I prefer them and road a lot. I would expect a large percentage of Fowlers are using the original gauge frames.

got new chanter biomed frames on "Cape town" and just fitted new frames to "Robert the Bruce" and got another R class sat here that will need a new set on it.

to be honest they don't look out of place at all and they work very well, certainly more reliable than the originals.

Plus one for chanter biomed gauge frames. Not necessarily cheap but by no means expensive for what you get. Me and Sam used chanter gauges with 1/2” bsp tails and made a set of bronze flanges for them to screw into. Once lined up, we marked them and silver soldered the gauge into the bronze flange. Passed hydraulic testing no problem.
Sam made the frame extension that runs from the top gauge down behind the 3rd shaft out of bronze hex. Steamed a few times now and not had any issues.

Cheers,

Dan

Hi Sam

Unfortunately I’ll be at work but let’s plan that engine reunion for next summer?
