Default Kinnerley Thrashing

Had a great day at the Kinnerley thrashing/threshing on Saturday. Thanks to Andrew for the invite and also the Hosts Peter and Linda for the refreshments (Especially the cake)

I had never heard of a Crichton box before, do many survive?

Thanks again
Ben

Ben

Crichton boxes were made in Turriff Aberdeenshire, there are a few survivors.

Gutted that I couldn't be there. It must be the first time in at least 20 years that I've missed it.
(I was hoping for rain)

I remember two Crichton boxes on a farm near Trefonen, other side of Oswestry. Is it one of them? One was under cover I think.
It was quite rough place nothing much machinery wise ever left. A bit out of the way; I used to go there twice a year to dip my flock (half dozen) sheep, to satisfy the legal requirement of the day. It was 2 or 3 at a time in a Bedford Chevanne or Datsun estate.

We had mist but no rain, yes shame you missed it, was great fun. Even missed the Brrokside Farm cider on tap!

No I can't, but it wasn't from Trefonen I don't think. It was further away. I think he acquired it in 1997 ish, in a poor state. It ran for the first time in 1999. It's a Merioneth war ag box, so I suggest it was that neck of the woods. I'm pretty sure he fetched it home on the Ifor Williams behind the disco!

Arial.
