Pic 28:Aveling and Porter 'English Princess' No 9228 Built 1913.
Making its first appearance after spending 44 Years in a shed.
The engine is to be kept in its original paintwork and,i believe , all is required are a new set of tubes.

Default English Princess

It carries the plate 8030 and is in the TER with that number.
At Elvaston it was displaying a March 1978 tax disc, hence the 44 years.
I was told that the ash etc was still in the firebox when 'found' which might not be totally good news.
I understand as often happens in such cases that the new owner had to be both persistent and patient.
I'm sure he feels it was worth the wait.

BTW 9228/1920 (picture 08) was another A&P tractor at the rally but restored. It was at Elvaston last week too.
