I cant understand why there are rallies going on before full restrictions are lifted but those after the restriction lift date are being cancelled....

The date (June 21st) is the earliest date, not a guarantee.

Plus have you tried to get insurance for an outdoor gathering during a pandemic?

yes I'm aware of that...

Insurance has not been a problem for some shows that have already taken place including one near me weekend just gone.

Hi Jim. I wonder if its a case of the events taking place at existing venues, like railways, which already have insurance in place and toilets and are open anyway. Rallies in fields would have to get single event insurance and have more outgoings like toilets, security etc which is at risk if the rules change. I'm sad its not going ahead, and brave of them to hold off cancelling just in case, but don't blame them for not going ahead, now things are still unknown.

Whats the problem with insurance? No one will be offering insurance to cover cancellation due to covid but everything else should be the same as previous years.

Good thought Matt, there was a big event in Brentwood last week (a country show type job) that went ahead no problems (other than the weather) which really surprised me as it before the end of restrictions being lifted (June 21st).

Just puzzled how some events can go ahead and others not.....

Sometime soon we all need to get back out and start enjoying life again.....

Jim

Steam rallies were actually allowed from 12th April but rules were quite strict on how they had to be run with staggered entry and people only allowed to be in groups 6 or from 2 households.
