There's a fair few in a field, not so many in a playground. Problem is, the reason they're there is because they're not for sale, people have already tried.

Try Preston Services or someone similar and keep an eye out in the magazines.

Have you dealt with said gentleman then?. He can only ever sell something for the price which someone is prepared to pay.

Theres no harm in looking at what Preston Services have to offer, at least it offers a good idea of a bench mark price wise. I suggest you take the time too look around and see what takes your fancy, then if there something inparticular that does, either find something identical or similar. There are plenty of engines in need of a restoration, its just finding the right one which you want to dedicate the time to!

The families Marshall TE came through a classified advert being spotted in Farmers Weekly, admittedly that was in 1998. But Farmers Weekly, Worlds Fair, Old Glory. are worth a look, don't despair things do come up for sale, but admittedly nowadays theres not so many bargains.

As for dealers they are not all bad, we went and looked at a set of Gallopers and Davey Paxman TE that Prestons had for sale, didn't get them in the end, but made very welcome, and shown around so when the lottery win arrives I won't hesitate to go there and splash the cash!

Michael List Brain is a dealer yes, but he is also very professional to deal with and a true gentleman. At the end of the day if you don't like his prices, service or products then feel free to shop elswhere, but don't make flippant remarks without justifying what you mean. This makes my blood boil. I probably would have pm'd this message to sparky1962 but his name and identity is hidden.

Shoot your mouth off somewhere else! There's too much of this going on.

People are hellish brave behind a computer screen, especially when no one can find out their name!

Comments like this are not what our HOBBY (usually means people get along and help eachother out, not stab eachother in the back at every turn) needs!
