Default Help rebuilding old lorry rad?

I am looking for a someone who can rebuild or at least supply the gills and tubes for the very old tube type rads. (1920/30 vintage)

I have had a quote and i appreciate that its a time consuming job but i cant afford it at present.

I have one contact who may have some but there may not be enough to do what i need so any help finding the bits would be appreciated or alternatively someone who has the time to push 200 gills onto 184 tubes! Quite a task!

Cheers

Hi

A friend recommended a guy in Stoke on trent to me.

I need two rads doing, he had a C1912 rad done fairly cheaply, the guy that does them enjoys working on the older stuff apparently so isn't all that dear.

Can I remember the place name though, could be starting with a P......... Radiators?

Sorry can't help anymore

Cheers

Dave

Thanks for the info.

I am in the process of following up the leads but Vinatge Rads in Manchester appear to be happy to do the final assembly and i can fit the gills to the tubes which is the labour intensive bit! Yet to re quote but im in no rush!

Thanks again.

Dave

Hi

I did the rad for my 1921 Leyland Raf type myself, 90 x 2ft x 1/2" tubes with something
like 13,000 gills all to be put on the right way. Then they have to be solder dipped, painted
and soldered into the top and bottom plates. A small radiator company in Farnham Surrey did the soldering.
