Here is my selection of the Sentinel Steam Waggons from Sunday at the Shrewsbury Rally, mostly taken at the ring display with a few exceptions which did not display.

Great photos there Arthur, thanks for sharing! The R.M Wooley waggon is one I don't recognise, newly returned to the scene? The only standard on pneumatics I recall was the one at Harrisons in Sheffield? No doubt someone knows more than I

The Standard on blow ups was ex John Nudd from Cheshire.

A Superb Waggon not often seen away from South Shropshire. I walked across the field just to see it.

Indeed it is, i had not seen it since it in the flesh since it's been in Dick Woolley's colours.

18)Sentinel Standard Waggon Reg. No. NY344 No. 3976 New 1921.
Supplied new to Crosswell's Brewery, Cardiff, worked until 1946, when purchased by J. Radcliffe, Forest of Dean. Lay derelict until 1962, when purchased by R. M. Wooley. Bought by present owner in scrap condition in 1976, nearly completely rebuilt over period of 4 years. This is the first rally it has ever attended. Restoration is still taking place.

A picture full of nostalgia there. John Nudd (sadly no longer with us) just in shot at right. The Pirate and his Dad at left.In the lighter overalls in right background could be 8/10's Dad. The maroon showmans van at right was mine....... and the ditch between the caravans and exhibits that everyone fell into at some time over the weekend! Happy days!

That's our old Monza caravan and awning in the background and Volvo estate ! Joe's boot's would have been lurking in the awning !

Just a question to those that know, why does the cab of the I N Woollett waggon have a different shape to the others?

Because it is an SDDG4 model. A development of the DG, pre S model. Only one four wheeler made and two SDDG6 six wheelers.
