If you were referring to the photo of A & P "Roller Conversion" 8601 Reg. OT 4239 ALBION, it used to be a fine 10 Ton BSD class Compound Roller which I remember well from its many rally appearances, and it was always well turned out.

Perhaps you are mistaking it for A & P "Roller Conversion" 6091 Reg. AY 9526 DUCHESS, this used to be a 15 Ton RC15 class Compound Roller, and has been to Flookburgh previously but not this year.

I do not think so , but I may have got the wrong end of a stick , entirely . Are you perhaps thinking of Samson , an ex Chatham Dockyard engine which was converted by the showman Charles Presland , and now lives in Lincolnshire .

Does anyone know what has happened to Samson? I have not seen or heard of it since it was owned by Tom Varley at Gisburn, a very long time ago. The TE Register shows it's location as Skegness in Lincolnshire.

Will it show up at Haddenham for the Paisley re-union?? Anyone know what will be there? I guess Emporer won't be for one. Never comes out of Hollycombe.

This was Duchess, Stuart (Elsa) may have posted this on old sight. AFAIK it was a midlands engine and never a RL. From what I remember of old site, I think (Substitute rumour gossip) that the front rolls & Headstock plus scarifier were still about somewhere.
