Steam Plough Club Hands-On 2021

This was held on the Leicestershire / Rutland border on 4th and 5th September 2021.

We attended on the Sunday on our way home from the Yorkshire Traction Engine Rally.

I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable events this year! It is on again next weekend down the bottom of the hill on the B664 out of Uppingham. The singles barking away was a joy. Note: this is a private function….. Will be posting video on YouTube and joining the steam plough club if this is the sort of event they can organise!

Yes, like steam rallies, smaller, more intimate events like this can often be more enjoyable than the ones with lots of engines and many visitors.

As for the SPC's organisational prowess, then their occasional 'Great Challenge' events are extraordinary spectacles.

The last two have been held in association with the National Ploughing Championships, not least because there are few venues that can offer sufficient suitable land to plough.
