i thought it looked a bit like a BB1 but it is a 'church' valve gear that was fitted on the cylinder

It looks a bit bigger than 2" scale. It could almost be mistaken for full size in the photo if all the water containers & other bits & pieces were not in view.

Does anyone have any information on the restoration project in the last picture?

The firebox looks similar to a Garrett wrinkly top firebox. If it's to go in the boiler on the trailer it may be a Garrett compound of some sort similar to Vera.

Looking at the box the wrapper plate has been fabricated in 3 sections going by the weld half down the side. The top of the box is also flat front to back rather than being concave as per Garrett's design

Weren't there some early Fowler single cylinder ploughing engines built or re-built with a Church valve gear cylinder.

sorry about that, once i wrote it i realised it was wrong, it was bigger than 2", most probably 3" as the miniature hidden behind was a 4" agricultural

i did wonder if it was a garrett, purely because the cylinder block but wasn't really sure

I think I remember someone saying that it was a Garrett 4CD on the back of the pick up but I can't remember who owned it.

I'm pretty sure the miniature ploughing engine is a 4inch, possibly a 3inch.

It just looked bigger than a 4CD. Must be something about these photos or my eyes playing tricks.

That sure is a strange looking firebox, esp. if it has a flat section on the crown! who made it/
