Default 18ft Southern Showman’s living van.

Hi everyone.

I’ll soon be putting up our 18ft, 1950’s Southern living van for sale.

We’ve owned this for 25 plus yrs and she joined us on our epic journey to Cornwall and back with our Burrell back in 2005.

Dad repaired the roof about 20yrs ago. The mollycroft was in good condition but the other timber needed replacement so everything else was done. I done the canvas recover and that was done over wet lead paint and then another coat of lead paint over the canvas. ( that was a nightmare to find and buy). And it’s been cleaned and repainted every 5 yrs or so. Most of the walls are insulated with the exception of the wardrobe and cupboard in the bedroom. The ceiling is Formica but I carefully covered over that with 12mm celotex and 6mm ply as we lived in her for 18 months. There is a 240 ring main fitted with the sockets being surface mounted or set into the toolbox/sofa so none of the original wall have been butchered. There is a small consumer unit in the rear toolbox under the back. Dad fitted the rear kitchen and the toolbox/sofa when he fitted the new floor back in the late 90’s to make it better for us for the rallies as there was nothing at all past the unit in the living area. The lights are all 12v so can be run off a 240 to 12v power supply but could easily be run off a leisure battery. Because we lived in her for a while the caravan waterpump was removed as we had her on mains water. The gas fridge was removed because it died and we just ran a 240 on off the mains although the vent is still in place.
I don’t know but I’m guessing the 3 draw unit in the lounge has be relocated from the bedroom as I’ve never seen one with a gap in the bedroom ?? There is a gas pipe going to the bedroom but no fire fitted.
As for price I really don’t know what to say.

Oh yes, also it has a single air actuator for the brakes running on a yellow line without any air tank but the original ratchet hand brake is there and works really well.
I will add some photos once I remember how to do it.

I genuinely don’t know what to ask for her as I have no idea on current prices.
