Default Engine Loan

Hi I was wondering if there are any engine/roller owners out there who have an engine that they don't have the time to look after and would be interested in entering into an agreement to loan their engine to me. I am a mechanical engineer and have recently re-tubed a Fowler roller and performed other remedial work so I would consider a complete engine that is in need of a bit of fettling.
This is a serious offer And everything would be done by a contracted deal with the owner.

I don't Tony, but best of luck with your endeavours. One of our regulars on TT has managed to do this, so it is possible

Hi all, Still on my quest for an engine to look after and take to rallies during the summer months. I would also be interested in entering into a hire purchase agreement to buy an engine as I don't have sufficient funds yet for an outright purchase of an engine, preferably a Fowler compound Anyone who might be interested please contact me.

It is a good idea. I have the love time and money to spend on fixing and maintenance but not to buy outright. I have been speaking with a company about asset financing however who seem pretty interested. It might be worth having a look at numerous options such as asset financing. They buy it and you pay for it monthly but if you do not pay they take it back and auction it like any hire purchase.

I don't think you will get very far just posting a wanted add on the forum. 3 out of the 4 posts youv made on here are about trying to get an engine. Try first asking to help out with somebody on their engine, go With them to rally's helping out, and meeting people. You may find after a year or two you might have better luck.

What part of Merseyside are you in?

I still think it's dodgy.

I lent someone a wheelbarrow, I haven't seen it for years...
