Default Steering Chain

The steering chain on my A and P is begining to show signs of wear ( flats caused by rubbing on front brackets) Does anyone have contact details of supplier or repairer please?

Default Steering chains

Anglia Handling Services Ltd of Biggleswade (sales@angliahandling.co.uk) can provide metric chains which are not far from the original imperial dimensions. PM me for exact details of the set I purchased recently for my 'E' type. Sandy

Kevin , showing signs of wear is normal for anything that is not new - this is not an aircraft . The wear which you want to look for is inside the links where they engage with each other . Gross thinning here is the thing to look out for .

You might try B & G Williams , Garratts Lane , Cradley Heath , B64 - 5RH . They do chain and chain and lifting accessories , and they are in the right town to have the sort of gear which we want . I have not tried them , and would be interested to hear about them .

This company recently supplied me, via a carrier, a few metres of chain pretty close to the original dimensions I was looking for.http://www.bradneychain.com/

Try Arbil they are at Coventry, Lye & Bristol and they used to do mail order, so they might well still do it.
