I first attended Old Warden back in 2012. It then became an annual day out between 2014 and 2018. After being cancelled for 3 years, the event spent to next two years in the much smaller Turvey House's parkland. News came before the end of last year that the event was being moved to Old Warden Park, much to the delight of myself along with numerous fellow Steam Rally fans.
For a long time, Bedfordshire was the second largest Steam Rally in England, hosting over 130 Full Size Traction Engines each year with the largest Steam Rally being the Great Dorset Steam Fair whose number was 200+.
Although not quite back at its usual number of Traction Engines (roughly 20 short), Old Warden ended up being the largest Steam Rally for 2024, with Welland following shortly behind
