fordson e27n Block

I am looking for a E27N block this must be in 100% excellent order as we have the head in 100% working order with no play on the Bore. The engine has been very well looked after when it was working.

Althought not the case befor my dad got the tractor as the block has a large crack in it hence why I am looking for a new one.

Any one with informaton where one might be or one for sale Please pm me.

Cant you repair the crack by screwing a copper plate over it ?

I've mig welded the blocks before, not easy but warm it up with the gas, make short welds and re heat. Good results can be had.

Dad has tryed all to fix block that is on tractor but did not work cant rember what went wrong!

So just trying to fine a 100% block to go with the rest of the engine.

Really , plating over a crack can work very well . I am sure that this tractor does not have a pressurised water system , all you need to do is to hold in hot water . It is certainly worth having a go , you will probably succeed , and save yourself a lot of money and a complete strip down . If you do not succeed , then all you have lost is a bit of time . Engines have worked for a very long time indeed with plated cracks in the blocks . If the crack is not bulged , then you could have a go at chain studding it , but only if you are very good with taps and drills . And if this failed , then you could still plate it .

Surely the amount of Fordsons being converted with more modern Diesel power will mean that there are plenty of blocks about?
