Grin Hallowell Steam & Heavy Horse Show 2009 (Large Pictures)

What a cracking way to finish the weekend. Elvaston yesterday and Hollowell today. The weather was near enough perfect and the event was very well organised with some great exihibits. A credit to the organisors of this show.

Here are some of the photographs I took at this event today.

Superb weekend, I'll post some pictures in due course. The only down-side was the exceptionally smokey coal, one shovel full on a clean fire = black smoke....

Does anybody know who the chap was with the camera on the tripod part-way up the last hill on the road-run, I'd like to see his picture(s)/video of us coming up....

Cheers

Simon

Thats the usual filthy house coal that always supplied at Hollowell. Just driving my 4" Foster from one side of the field to the minature line up was enough, streaming stinging eyes. Chuck it out and start again with some of Andy's coal from Banbury, what a difference, less smoke, less soot in the tubes & less ash in the ash pan.

Absolutely, I agree, even Andy's 'standard smokey' is nowhere near as smokey as that! (virtually smokeless if fired correctly) Sore throats all round today....
