Default Bressingham Steam Gala, 2022

This is not a definitive record of the engines present, just a few pictures to give the atmosphere of a pleasant and relaxing event.

However one of the burning topics of conversation was coal. (Apologies!) One of the compressed mixtures of ingredients was being used, and I know that charcoal was being tried at the EATES Crank-Up recently. Could some owners of both full size and miniature engines gives us some comments on how they got on with these please?

Raising steam.

Ruston & Hornsby 113043 'Oliver'.

'Oliver' on the saw bench.

The latest addition to the Wheeler family collection. A "planing & thicknessing machine" by FW Reynolds of London. They seem to have been big in woodworking machinery in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The unique Youngs portable belted to the planing & finishing machine.

Bressingham's Garrett 34641 'Bunty'.

RS&J 30004 'Major'.

Burrell SRL 3833 'Queen Mary' from the Charles Burrell Museum - at a charging point?

Which way was the current flowing?

Burrell SCC 2770 'Sir Gordon'.

Fowell 108 'Percy'.

4 ins Burrell road loco doing what road locos were made for. Note the miniature 'Dad's Army' butcher's van.

Steam on road and rail. Marshall 83780 'Monty'.

And finally - this thing always fascinates me. I think Roland Emett must have had a hand in designing it.

Thanks to all who took part. Anothergreat day out.
Bill.
