Default Rempstone 2024

I now have Rod Smith's report on my site.

It looks to have been another great show at Rempstone although there seem to have been few breaks in the heavy cloud.

It's Welland next and the weather forecast is currently looking pretty good for all three days.

They are promoting 'beat the queue' by buying tickets in advance (at last!).

What could possibly go wrong?

Hmm......What about what else could go right, instead? Maybe a higher turnout of Traction Engines, for example? I'm planning to attend for the first time this year

I was actually alluding to the wait to get in which was about 4 hours in 2022 and 'only 2 hours' in 2023, this for the average punters pitching up in the late morning. From the show publicity, I assume that 'pre-paid' and 'pay on the day' will be segregated this year. I hope it does the trick, but I have long advocated switching to 'park and pay' like almost all other rallies. There must be a reason they do it that way...

Buy your ticket in advance and get there as early as you can...

I'm not expecting or even hoping for 'more engines', that would be greedy; last year's 100 plus was somewhat beyond my and other people's expectation.

Come what may it's going to be a great day out and because I live locally I can readily go back for more! That will be greedy.

What I find intersting is this time Welland falls a week after Weeting - which could be a major advantage on my part. Basically months ago, I had planned to attend Weeting either Saturday or today, but my mum fell ill due to suspected food poisoning on Friday, the day after we retuned home after our holiday to Malaysia (her side of the family lives over there). She's feeling better now, but I'm still keeping a close eye on her.

Hopefully Welland's idea works out for them.
