The machine on the right in the photo above is a 1908 clover huller, Garrett works no. 12302, supplied to agents G Thurlow of Stowmarket. (From the show catalogue.) It is indeed part of the Long Shop collection.

That's great, thanks Bill. At least now I know where there is another, in case I need to make reference to a second machine. I was beginning to think that mine (no.15602) was the only one left..!
Now all I need to find is a threshing machine (like the one on the left) to go with it... |

Here's a few of my pictures to add to Ian's excellent collection.
Anna Mercer, Curator of the Garrett Long Shop Museum. Natal Taylor with 'Faith', the 1916 W&S Expansion engine he's owned since 1965. The clover huller again, pulled by 1920 Tractor 'Empress'. Garrett threshing drum, pulled 1925 Tractor 'Hot Favourite'. Garrett 8 ton traction waggon of 1922, pulled by 1918 Showman's Tractor 'Invincible'. The oldest Garrett engine in steam, 'Lucy' of 1902, pulling the Long Shop Museum's 1916 tractor 'Princess Marina' and a 10 nhp portable of 1928 returned from Chile. Bruce Rice with his 4 ins Dodman SCC, talking to ex Dodman employee Colin Spink Mark Vine lighting up the McLaren engine on his 1887 A&P roller 'Eileen'. Finally, I can't resist a set of gallopers. |
