Hi . Thinning out my collection of steam books . Sorry not more road steam related, but most of these are classics and very interesting period items.


STATIONARY STEAM ENGINE MAKERS Vol. 2 by George Watkins - pub. LANDMARK 2006

175 pages - hundreds of photographs , drawings and diagrams of every type of steam engine.
( George Watkins is THE acknowledged expert on stationary and mill steam engines )

As new condition with mint dust jacket - and now hard to find. £ 25 + £ 5 p&p .


MARINE ENGINES & BOILERS - Design & Construction by Bauer & Robertson - pub. Crosby Lockwood 1905

745 pages - many illustrations and drawings Comprehensive period technical book on Marine Steam.

Covers a bit faded - internally very clean - A classic work. Quite rare £ 30 + £ 7 p& p ( heavy item ).


VALVES AND VALVE GEAR MECHANISMS by Prof . W. E. DALBY pub. Arnold 1906.

366 pages - many illustrations and diagrams . Prof . Dalby was THE expert on valve motions and engine balancing .

190 pages - many illustrations and drawings etc . An interesting technical study of compound engines and superheated steam .

by W. S . Hutton . pub Crosby Lockwood 1916

620 pages - numerous diagrams , illustrations and tables , A comprehensive textbook on traditional boilers and boilerwork.

Generally very good condition - internally very clean .


A MANUAL OF LOCOMOTIVE ENGINEERING by W. F. PETTIGREW pub. Griffin 1899

( Pettigrew was Works Manager at LSWR NINE ELM & EASTLEIGH loco works and later CME Furness Railway ).

430 pages. A comprehensive textbook on turn- of - century locomotive design & construction . Good sections on valve motions and loco type boiler design. Many illustrations and drawings .

A classic work and quite rare . Covers a bit rubbed , otherwise very clean internally £ 25 + £ 6 p & p.


THE MARINE STEAM ENGINE by R. Sennett & H. Oram pub. Longmans Green 1915

500 pages - numerous drawings, diagrams and illustrations . Classic textbook on Compound and Triple Expansion engines and boilers.

Covers slightly marked, otherwise in good condition and very clean internally. £ 20 + £ 6 p & p.
