Default Twyford Waterworks 4th May 2008

Twyford Waterworks Spring Open Day

Twyford Waterworks, near Winchester, will start the 2008 season in style on Sunday 4th May. We’re currently expecting half a dozen full size engines plus a few miniatures to attend plus copious numbers of stationary engines, some classic vehicles, buses, miniature railway and other displays.

We still have some space for potential exhibitors – call me on 01962 714716 twyfordwater@aol.com

We will have as much of the historic waterworks in operation with the 1930s diesel pumping engines working along with gas and water powered engines. The industrial railway will be running and the tea room will be able to provide a selection of light refreshments.

The highlight of the day will be the formal opening of the Waterworks’ new shop – a former Hants and Dorset bus shelter dating from 1930 which was picked up and moved from Winchester in 2006 – by the Mayor of Winchester at 2pm.

Friends of King Alfred Buses will also be maintaining a special free service between Winchester and the Waterworks.
