Default Bill Targett Steam Show 2013

My Sympathies with Kitten, Hope you got sorted out. I set out hoping to catch last part of rally & joind the M25 car park, turned out to be a vehicle fire of some sort. So arrived very late & Photographed what was there. One advantage of arriving Late was a chance to see engines on the road. I headed of in direction of Bursledon Brickworks & came across this lovely Aveling. must have been good coal/enginmen as no smoke, they gave the cows a bit of a fright though, thanks for the whistle
Sorry to have missed Dan & Adagio, I presume they headed in different diirection, will try & catch up later.
Lovely Rally despit my late arrival.
After such excitement & went for a stroll doewn by Crableck yard where I lived in 70's & veiwed a few more bits of old Iron Just can't keep away from it. The wreck in the forground was a RNLI Lifeboat, in the background an old fishing boat that sank around 1978.

Afterwards a walk down the river more old iron!

Hi Roger, so it was you perched in the hedge! Lack of smoke was nothing to do with me, all down to best welsh coal.

Thanks for the photo.

Hi Douglas
Yes that was me, I had contemplated standing in the ditch for a better shot but thought better of it, I wasn't sure I could get out!
Sorry the photo wasn't better I was too close for my panning abilities.
Cheers
Roger

Went over to support Bill Targett on Saturday! Lets hope they made some money as the car park was full when I went! Hopefully next year they will be able to return the event at its best! Well done to the organisers for the hard work they have done it tough circumstances! Good show!

Not going to Netley Roger, but our next one is Ropley (Dene) on the 22nd/23rd June. Pop along it was great rally last year (1st one!) and will be the same this year. Nice and friendly and no bull***t!!!!

Great time was had by myself and our crew. Good local event with a relaxed atmosphere. Road run there and back just right for my engine. Don't think they want to get any bigger, as they had before, as they have logistical problems and costs getting bigger and frankly it does not need to in my opinion. Well done to all the organising committee, great weekend. I believe they had the costs covered by Saturdays turn out so hopefully should be back next year.
