This weekend (3/4 August) is the now annual Tinkers Park Railway Gala, Hadlwo Down, East Sussex, TN22 4HS.
For the traction engine enthusiast there will be two or three engines in steam, two of which will be giving trailer rides right to the bottom of the site, which extends further than people who only attend the rally may realise. A number of other engines owned by/resident at the Park will be on static display.
The resident O&K 0-6-0 loco "Sao Domingos" will be joined by the larger O&K "Eloise" visiting from the Old Kiln Museum at Tilford (nr Farnham) in operating an extensive shuttle service on the 2' gauge Great Bush Railway. There will also be two miniature railways in operation and three halls of model railway layouts and trade stands.
For the bus enthusiast two ex London Transport buses, an RT and an RF, will be operating on two routes, including stops at Buxted railway station and Uckfield bus station.
All rides, including the buses, are included in the admission of £7 adults, £2 children so makes for a relatively cheap day out for families.
