Default Bluebell Railway "Road Meets Rail".

Just a flavor of the goings on. The ploughing engines were a static display some distance from the event field, and I doubt many made the walk to them as there was no indication of where they were. Visible from the trains. Unfortunately there was no engine on a rail wagon this time. There were problems with one of the locomotives initially, which rather screwed up the railway timetable. The goods train did get going eventually, and Old Tim was busy loading wheel sets onto the trucks. A blisteringly hot day, so well done to all those working hard on the working engines.

Southern Queen making her way to the fairground.

The ploughing engines were by the station building when I arrived on Saturday morning but then disappeared with no indication as to where they had gone. Would have been nice to see them in action. Did I miss anything else? John

The ploughers were set up to look as though they were working, but they were not permitted to plough the field they were in as it was a cattle field.

Not sure if they ran a cable out later or not.
The three wag(g)ons all vanished at the same time, although the Fuller's Foden did return. The other two hadn't reappeared by the time I left on Sturday at around 4pm.

The steam wagons visited West Hoathly station site, Kinscote and East Grinstead stations.
They also paused at various overbridges so as to be visable from the train.
The Bluebell produced a flyer which made referrance to the ploughing engines and to look out at stations/bridges etc.
Perhaps more detail could be included for next years event?
As this is only the second "Road meetsRail" event I really hope it evolves, it's nice to be encouged to turndle off to an under/over bridge, Lots of passengers waving from the carriages.
Station drive was really very busy with various road steam, a great event, the weather was glorious all weekend (Sunday afternoon got a tad warm). Bluebell laid on a live band Saturday night who were fantastic.
Well done to Liz, Steve, Jason and team.
Can't wait for next year!

I too hope the event continues to evolve. There's plenty of room. I didn't see the flyer.
