Default Hollowell - 2 July 2011

Some pictures from Hollowell today. The rally is celebrating it's 25th year and hopefully once this years gate has been taken into account they will have raised over £1m for a variety of charities over those 25 years. A bumper crowd was on hand in the sunshine.

There was no plates on the engine and it wasn't in the programme but I understand that it is Fowler 16971, an engine was converted from a roller some years ago.

Certainly says roller to me, from the pic. I don't know the engine personally.

A few of mine . . .

Can someone identify this engine please?

Allchin 2146 on it's first rally in nearly 30 years

A McLaren man and a Fowler man secretly wishing they owned a Wallis!

It was good to meet several TT'ers there. Thanks to all engine owners and organisers for a brilliant day.

McLaren 1642. This engine was owned by Mr Hayward in Scotland - has it now been sold to new owners in England?

Correct , Alex Hayward at Coldstream wants a threshing engine , and has sold the McLaren to the gent from Buglawton who owns Prince of Wales , and knew a good engine when he saw it .

Yes I thought I saw his name on the boiler disc (but not in the programme).

I think good engine may be an understatement.

Allchin 2146 on it's first rally in nearly 30 years

It was at an Allchin gathering at Hunsbury Hill, Northants in 1996.
