Default Astwood Bank Road Run

The Astwood Bank Steamers held an end of season road run last weekend (14th/15th November 2015) from their base at S. E. Davis's yard to Abbots Salford on the Saturday and back via Salford Priors on the Sunday. It was a great weekend despite the weather and we owe a debt of thanks to the organisers and engine crews for bringing their engines out to entertain us.

Nice to see Big Daz back out on his Fowler roller. Saw it on the NTET driving days and my daughter Danielle has been on it. Saw it in bits the last time we were there, it was used for explaining the parts of an engine to the beginners course.

Unfortunately Daz struggled with his roller priming on the way home on the Sunday, but he made it back without outside help and I'm sure he'll sort it out.

I was amazed at the amount of black muck which came out of my repaired boiler after a dozen steamings .
