We will see how Sam gets on with the Striker this weekend - he might need some beer to drown his sorrows and sore back !

Anyone wishing to road their engine in from Chapel, as we did last year, is more than welcome to leave any tackle in our works yard. It is either a quick three miles or a nice scenic 6 miles depending on which route you choose to take. There is room for low loaders at the Brtiannia Wire Works in Buxworth as well as at Chapel.

This event is an end of season party and hopefully will put some of the FUN back into engine owning / driving which is so often drowned out by over zealous comittees these days. Anyone who would like to take a trailer to Whaley Bridge or Chinley to act as a steam taxi service is more than welcome to borrow one and it would be nice to see if a Gold Medal can hold its own against a Tiger in Tiger country as Lord Doverdael prowled North Derbyshire for over 50 years in commercial use and will be almost home again.

Bryn, about a couple of miles after New Mills the A6 passes under the railway, immediatly after the bridge turn left, very sharp turn! then follow the roan round - you won't miss it!

if you go under the bridge and reach a roundabout, turn back and hav another go.

Ian

Buxworth is on the B6062, which branches off the A6 between New Mills and Whaley Bridge.
If coming from the Stockport direction, the turn is a left one immediately after a skew railway bridge, and virtually doubles back on your original direction. Long vehicles may find it preferable to travel the 200 yards or so to the roundabout at the start of the Whaley & Chapel by-pass then return from here to the B6062 junction.

Obviously for those approaching from the South or East, the "marker" is the roundabout at the end of the by-pass, and the turn onto the B6062 is 200 yards beyond there on the right.

For those who navigate by their sat-navs, the postcode to enter is SK23 7NE. However if you are using Apple's new iphone 5 map application, you might be better entering "Dublin Airport"

Hi Ian, not sure who is coming besides you and Richard Gregory.

The people who are doing the hog roast butties have said they hope not too many miniatures come, as it can be a right faff making 3" scale butties!!
