I'd not visited Hollycombe for several years, and this event was titled "The Robert Bance Memorial Rally". I'm sure the name will be familiar to some on here. A gentleman in all respects, passed away far too soon.
There was a good selection of engines on display, and the portable section was well populated in tribute to Rob. However, my interest is in road engines. Not many of the Hollycombe resident engines were on display.
Allchin 669 "Bess"
Aveling 10143 "Jasper".
Aveling 14039 "Canterbury". Last time I saw this roller, it was part built in a tent at Chatham dockyard, so nice to see it completed, albeit by the new owner.
Fowler 1908 "The Mistress".
Fowler 3195.
Fowler 12257.
Fowler 16144 "Rosie".
Marshall 73040.
Marshall 87087 "Dorothy". Formerly in the Brading museum on the Isle of Wight, and a first siting for me.
Wallis 7625.
There were plenty of others, but the weather didn't play ball.
