A 1909 built engine, 8hp, with some very interesting features including 'Rider' Type Automatic Expansion Gear. Originally fitted with pump and injector, and twin salter safety valves. Requires restoration.
A 'proper' engine designed to run a saw bench. The wheels are offset at the rear so you can run the belt out 'backwards'. This means that you can operate the portable and be the bench side of the engine, seeing what is happening.
I believe the Rider expansion gear is quite rare. I have only seen it on one other portable and one horizontal engine.
A lovely machine, needs TLC.
