It is good that Jonathan Wheeler has been able to restart his threshing days. (See his post "Threshing at Bardwell 9th October".) These are always excellent events with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Oliver, the Wheeler family's Ruston & Hornsby no. 113043, was threshing out some 'Squarehead's Master' wheat for thatching straw. In attendance were The Hines family with Fowell no 108, Percy and Robey Showman's Tractor no. 41492 Bathsheba. The Grange Musical Collection at nearby Palgrave brought along a Dutch organ and there were a handful of visiting vintage vehicles. Together with a beer tent, hog roast and sunshine, what more could one want? Answer: wonderful bread from the bakery at Bardwell windmill, the restoration of which will benefit from money raised at the event.
Thanks for coming over Bill and recording the day. Thank to all in fact who came and to my family and friends with out them the do would not happen. Cheers
