I won't be but I lived in Warrington for three years 1972-1975 and have never been back. If I made a sentimental journey would I find it much changed and is the Hogey Wagon still there?

Default Cheshire Steam Rally 2021

Probably not, it's right on the limit for what we like to do in a day out from here in Gloucestershire and at least one way we would have to use the M5 and M6 which can always spoil a day out.
Outdoor Shows deserve congratulating for taking the risk of putting it on before all restrictions are removed. Nevertheless you might be better advised saving your pennies for Astle Park in August which I think is a rather better event.
This is what I said after my 2018 visit:
"The Cheshire Steam Rally is run by the same organisation as runs the Ashley Hall and Astle Park Rallies in the same area, so we knew what to expect, a plain vanilla show with a nice selection of engines. We always like to attend different events, however, the risk was always that those attending would be mainly a subset of those seen at the larger Astle Park event the previous year and so it proved for the most part. We had had an early start and found the engines well spaced and perfect for static photography before the crowds arrived. However, with the crowds came the clouds and the midday parade was such that the camera never came out, it was nice to just watch for a change. By now, as the engines returned to their pegs, it was clear that it would be some hours before the sun angle would be conducive to photography even if the clouds melted and so we called it a day. Hence, the pictures are somewhat boring and repetitive."

Sadly it's long gone as is the cinema (later to become Mr Smiths nightclub which was one of the venues for the Hitman and Her late night show). The whole area around Bridgefoot has been changed so you would find it very different.
