My original fowler gauges are fine and easy to see. Only mod I've done is fit a Klinger glass, but only because I prefer them and road a lot. I would expect a large percentage of Fowlers are using the original gauge frames.

Plus one for chanter biomed gauge frames. Not necessarily cheap but by no means expensive for what you get. Me and Sam used chanter gauges with 1/2” bsp tails and made a set of bronze flanges for them to screw into. Once lined up, we marked them and silver soldered the gauge into the bronze flange. Passed hydraulic testing no problem.
Sam made the frame extension that runs from the top gauge down behind the 3rd shaft out of bronze hex. Steamed a few times now and not had any issues. Cheers, Dan |
