The Wheeler family celebrated 40 years of ownership of Ruston & Hornsby No. 113043 of 1920 'Oliver' with a run to the pub on Boxing Day. I found them steaming through South Lopham.
Shortly followed by North Lopham. Despite the look of the road, it was not raining.
Arrival at the King's Head immediately attracted interested boys of all ages.
Also those just wanting their pictures taken.
Oliver's whistle was blown on demand. (The word whistle hardly seems adequate. It is an ex-marine chime affair and certainly has a 'commanding' tone.)
Eventually Oliver was left to his own devices as the bar called.
One thing that doesn't show up in the photos is that the LEDs hidden inside the oil lamps make excellent headlights.
Thanks to the Wheelers for a bit of Christmas steam.
Bill.
