Hi everyone. Now the next MBmtew isn't until April 25th/26th, the next road steam event is the big engine do. The local full size road steamers always support the Battlefield Line's most enjoyable "Rails and Ales" event. For this year I am told that there will be 12 or more full size engines, both rollers and traction engines. Indeed Mr Henton's lovely Fowler "Victoria" has already been spotted in the area! The full size steamers will be gathering at Market Bosworth Station where the Real Ale do takes place, with over 40 ales, ciders and perrys to try. During the day the engines will be in steam and the railway will be running a mixed traction service with steam haulage on behalf of GWR 2-8-0 No3803, of 1939. Evening entertainment at the historic Goods Shed at MB will be provided by Dr Busker on both Friday and Saturday night, and there will also be daytime entertainment from other groups too. This is a very pleasant weekend and its always nice to see a turnout of local big engines!
The evening performances by Dr Busker are certainly not to be missed! Thank you
