Default Bristol Steam - regular meeting arrangements now sorted

Greetings everyone,

Thankyou to everyone who attended the last meeting. Due to popular vote last meeting, we are pleased to confirm the Inn On The Green, Filton BS7 0PA, as our regular meeting place from now on - at the usual 7.30 arrive for 8pm start time on the second Monday of the month.

Club news:

- For the upcoming club night, we have a real treat in store for you! Phill's friend Jer is going to bring along a proper slide projector and some slides of old rallies. If people want to bring along any of their own, please feel free to do so as well - the more the merrier! It should make for an interesting evening of quite interactive entertainment!

- The Magic Lantern man mentioned at the February meeting is now unavailable until later in the year so we will try to reschedule him for September or October.

- As discussed and voted on at the previous meeting, it has been decided to make the club subscription £5 annually and we will look to start officially collecting this at the march meeting to put towards the travel costs of our guest entertainment and printing/distributing a few hardcopies of our upcoming newsletter. Receipts will be issued until we can organise some official member cards.

- Our first newsletter is due to be published on the 8th April. Please please please can people either bring along submissions of stories, pictures, adverts, event promotions or indeed anything else to the March meeting, or else email them to this address (bristolterally@gmail.com). If we don't have any material we cannot make a very good newsletter!

And in related news:

- Steve Birch is appealing for some full-size engines to appear at a display he is organising on the 16th-18th August. Further details will be forthcoming at the next meeting

- Remember the Hay and Harvest weekend? Well, Richard Newman is organising a new event this year to reinstate the working weekend, at Isleport Farm, Highbridge, Somerset, 27-28th July. Entry forms will be available at the march meeting - if you are unable to attend the meeting but interested in entering then please contact us and we can email you a scanned version to fill in.

Regards,

Matt and Phill
