The Shovel

Its not for the faint hearted - I bet it will do a dozen eggs and 4lb of bacon.

Its never been used in anger and still has a lable on it. - EW Lucas then BR stamped under the name

43 1/2 inches tall and the shovel head is 8 inches x 17 inches long

The Safety Valves.

R C Ross & Co

9 inch overall hight
5 1/2 dia flange
4 bolt holes at 3 inch centres
Inlet hole aprox 2 inches
Both say 160 psi

one has RA 580 - RCSS valve on it

rusty but solid looks never to have been used.

Not very heavy guage steel

46 1/2 tall

8 3/4 at base
11 1/4 at top

To maximise profit you'd be far better advertising it on a steam train forum. I suspect most people on this forum would buy a shovel to use, if that means the handle gets broken or the blade scratched then so what - it's a shovel! In the railway marketplace you'll probably find more people who will buy a shovel to loveingly cherish, polish and stare at - thus prices and what people will pay starts to rise.
