We've been at an event at Thorney near Peterborough this weekend. It mainly centred around the nationwide "Open Farm Sunday" scheme but the Saturday was much better weather wise. Very enjoyable and plenty of people - 3,200 through the gate over the weekend, no doubt encouraged by the free entry and free bag of potatoes.
Only two engines - us with the Knight family Ruston 161250 and this lovely RSJ portable which was on it's first public steaming.
We were belted up to a Clayton drum which was a great learning experience for me and huge fun. The Ruston of course thought nothing of it and looked after the job (and me) well.
