Nice pics Roy. We met the chap with the big Wallis at Dorset and he took some pics of the handbrake on my friends' W&S traction. He showed us some pics of the rebuild and of it on a drum, it is very nice indeed!

Aveling 11145 could be on rubber but I would have to have a closer look. I will go and see the owner and let you know.

I am yet to meet Alan. I have known its previous owner Don Proudlock for around 45 years.

Houghton Feast is an ancient festival which has been going on since the 12th century. I have been going to see it fairly regularly for around 50 years. It has been one of the regular haunts of White Bros Mammoth Gavioli Organ for over 50 years and stays and plays for 2 days. The Feast lasts several days every October and includes an evening Hog Roast. The traction engines take part in a grand parade on the Saturday afternoon, which includes a local Scottish Pipe Band, sometimes a brass band, plus colliery lodge banners, dancers, scouts, vintage vehicles, decorated floats on the backs of wagons, sometimes Juvenile Jazz Bands & the local territorial Army. There also a funfair with several shows in attendance.
