Default 1954 Scammell MU15 and 1939 Aveling DX8 for sale

Hi everyone.
We have taken the decision to put both our 1954 Scammell MU15 and our 1939 Aveling DX8 up for sale.

The Scammell we have owned for nearly 13 yrs and have rallied since we bought her. Doing shows in Essex, Kent, Sussex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
She has been restored, and is a “press the button and go” lorry. She has all new tyres front and rear and the rear wheels have been converted to run modem tubeless super singles in stead of the impossible to by new 1400 x 16 super singles. This means there are now no concerns about punctures etc. and these look spot on as many people haven’t realised we have done this conversation.
As she is pre 1960, meaning she is also MOT exempt (unlike anything registered from 1960 onwards) and is classified as category B meaning she can be driven on a car licence if you do not have an HGV licence.

There are extensive photos of the restoration on my Flickr account. She was new to Berry Wiggins and is finished in that companies livery.

The Aveling DX8 is a 1939 8 ton single cylinder diesel roller. New to Ilford Council and was taken over by the war office before being returned to civilian use later on. We have not finished the restoration of the DX8 but we have used her to build our driveways and hard standing in both Essex and here in Norfolk. As you can see she is fitted with a price 2 tine scarifier.

We are looking to sell these on to new custodians so we may hopefully own a steam roller again.

Serious enquiries/offers only please.

Regards
Michael and Belinda.
