You have hit the nail on the head there Neil, which is why we weren't there.

You were entered in the program along with others who were not in attendance. 41 engines listed, about 34 present 8 of which came from the Saunders collection. Billed as the largest event in the North, not any more. £10.00 entrance fee a bit steep compared with other events I have attended.

41? The steam section has decreased by more than 2/3rds! Sad to see this event suffer so badly

They would have to pay me a lot more than £10 to go to Pickering again, even as a spectator.

Last time we went with the Austin 7, they stuck us around the inside of the main arena ropes because they had under estimated the space in the car section by at least 50%.
We went to the firework display on the Saturday evening, and to be honest there were so many pi55ed yobbo's around we did not feel safe. Most of the stall holders were complaining about the pikeys nicking their generators through the night.

First and foremost we attend rallies to enjoy ourselves, so I am afraid Pickering has been crossed off our list !!
Such a shame because I have been going on and off since 1964 when it was a proper rally.

Phil

The organisation seemed better this year their was wall to wall security.
As I previously stated the event was laid out better with a clear map in programme.
Hopefully Pickering will get back to what it used to be, the venue is exerllent for the North East we have very few rallys up here now.
Admission price is about the same as other local rallys.
Their were events on all day in both arenas.
Only went for the day so cannot comment on night time security etc.
