Default Stoneleigh Park

My employers organise a big Land Rover show every year, for the past couple of years this has been at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire.

They are keen to add something "different", and knowing my interest I was asked to try and get a few engines along.

Brian Knight kindly agreed to transport over his Robey tractor "Village Queen", and after a plea on TT Colin Harris aka Pedler's Mate got in touch. Big thanks to Colin, Pedler's owner Tony and Tim Bowman for bringing the big Wallis and Aveling roller "Angelina" along.

We had a great weekend running around the showground, down by the offices it was like a road run through a town centre but without the traffic! And all fuelled by Mr. Holmes' finest Welsh.

Default Land Rovers?

Apparently there is another form of power that combusts internally (?). I doubt it will ever catch on but we helped to convert some if these idealists to the only real form of power generation. Thanks to Kev and crew for making us welcome. Here are a few of my pics.

Ah Kev. I spoke to you once on the LandRoverAddict forum a couple of years ago, and I knew you used to live near lincs somewhere and we chatted about your involvement with a few engines. I've been wondering if it was the same person and having read your musings in this months LRM i was certain of it. Now you've blatantly said it, the link I have made. I go by a different name on the LRA forum so you might not recognise me. You'll have to excuse the perhaps "star-struck" sound of this post but after the cogs have been turning in my head for this one, I feel I could not contain myself! Nice pics of the engines and Series I.

Fraid so. I was hoping to get some miniatures along from the Black Country Steamers, but the people our end couldn't get themselves sorted out in time with the relevant forms and info. I'll do it myself next time! Maybe next year.
