Default Basket case!

With "Onward" nearing completion I am looking for a new project!
What is out there?
It has to be uk based or have an export licence.
It does not have to be rare, anything considered..............something that no one in their right mind would take on!!
Origins must be known and significant part(s) available.
Please don't tell me you have a front roll for an aveling roller or send me on a wild goose chase to something not for sale!
Open to sensible suggestions/ offers.
Please P.M me.
Dave Eves.

How about:

1. The Aveling ploughing engine at Prestons if you can get it at the right price!

2. MLB also has a Tuxford steeple engine that is reputedly from a traction engine used in some military trials in the 1860s.

3. A Merryweather 'FireKing' self-propelled fire engine. Last UK one cut up in the 1940's. No bits known but a 'Gem' engine would make a good.

Good luck.

Roger

The Aveling plougher is a choice engine. But the useable bits are worth about 10K!
Only looking to pay what a project is worth..............or I will start from scratch again!
You have to look at what is left once you have scrapped the boiler, tender, tanks etc.

Cheers all !

Yes the ex Potter Bros Aveling Steam Bus which was residing at Rush Green Motors comes to mind. Would provide a spot of light relief after your Onward project Dave!!

How about the Yukon Hornsby Foster Crawler.... If not the original, how about a new build?....

Good luck with what ever you find!

Regards

Jonathan
